The following policies and requirements shall govern the use of the FCC issued callsign,
K0SI, issued to the Central Missouri Radio Association (CMRA). The purpose is to ensure
that all operations with the use of this callsign be in compliance with FCC Part 97 for
Amateur Radio, as well as any policies, directives or orders presented by and approved by
the CMRA.
- CMRA members may, with prior approval, use the callsign K0SI for on-air activities.
- Any member or group of members wishing to use the callsign, K0SI, must submit a
request at a scheduled general meeting prior to the activity. The details of the activity
shall be approved by a majority vote of the membership in attendance. - An Activity Manager, as designated by the CMRA President, will organize, manage, and
insure proper use of the K0SI callsign. Their duty will be to review the proposed activity’s
band/mode plan for compliance with standard practices in use for that event, example:
Field Day, LCTOTA, POTA, etc. - The activity will be announced to the membership as soon as possible to insure
maximum participation. - Use of the callsign will be within the frequencies authorized for the Control Operator’s
license privileges manning each station. Per FCC regulations, operators will be required to
announce their personal callsign periodically. - If required, the activity manager shall collect all contact logs and other documentation
required for the event and present them to the appropriate organization and/or logging
site. - Any control operator using the association’s callsign must be a member in good
standing. - The activity manager will report back to the Association the results of the activity, to
include, but not limited to, number of participants, number of contacts, and any other
information that might be of interest. - Use of the callsign, K0SI, will be prohibited without prior approval in accordance with
this policy.
