Ham Radio at the Daniel Boone Regional Library

AC0G, NS0Y, K4CHS, KC0WGB, N0OFJ, N0AXZ, KD0EAG, KC0DEO gathered on a hot summer night in July to present Ham Radio at the Daniel Boone Regional Library in their Summer Night Secret Garden program. This is an outdoor area at the southwest corner of the library. Library staff thought it would be too hot out there and so we met in the “Egg Room” in the air conditioning. We strung two wire antennas and one VHF vertical out in the Garden and ran coax through the door into the Egg.

N0AXZ presented a brief introduction to the many facets and features of Ham Radio to 11 patrons. Questions and answers and hands-on demonstrations followed. Winlink email was demonstrated and several people went out to see the antennas. Four ARRL brochures were provided for the public presentation.
